We’re back! Join Lesia Burford and Danielle Leong as we catch up on a busy trial season and go behind the scenes of Australia’s first ACSW Elite trials—from the perspectives of a competitor, judge and Certifying Official.
We chat about independent searching, tricky odour puzzles, search area coverage and the decisions that can leave even experienced handlers second-guessing themselves. Danielle shares the highs of Nettle’s Elite achievements alongside an honest look at a difficult search, losing trust and finding their feet again.
Plus, we discuss taking a break from trialing, building skills for the next level and what’s coming up at K9 Nose Time, including online training.
Whether you’re preparing for Elite or just starting your nose work journey, there’s plenty to take away about teamwork, confidence and keeping the fun in searching.
